ENVIRONMENTAL RELATED ISSUES

Environmental issues cover a wide spectrum. Although the SA Carp Society address various issues which negatively impacts on carp fishing, we currently focus on the following: Catch and release; Pollution; Bow fishing; The new Bio Diversity act.

Following are just a few areas where we will be focusing our attention:

Fish Care at Fishing Competitions / Catch and Release Pollution

As one of our major challenges, the SA Carp Society will continuously address pollution related issues.

Bow Fishing

We will make contact with bow hunting governing bodies to communicate our concerns.

Commercial netting operations

Where possible the SA Carp Society will try to establish quotas and determine if these guidelines are adhered to.

Illegal netting / poaching

Not only will we actively take part and report on poaching incidents, we will also try to establish a working reporting platform to more effectively address these issues.
