André Dicks is Founder of the South African Carp Society (SACS). André established the society some 3 years ago with the vision of an organization which would look after the interests of all specimen carp anglers in South Africa. Many carp fishing venues are constantly under threat of pollution and crime, hence he decided to take on this challenge to negotiate with owners of private venues in an effort to provide safe and pollution free venues to SACS members.
He is also well known in the angling fraternity as the CEO of OutdoorPAGES, a website specializing on all facets of angling and incorporating a specialized forum platform providing a huge wealth of information to members.
André also produced quality specimen carp angling DVD's like the Going for Gold specimen carp angling series featuring Lee Jackson and Hennie du Preez's record catches captured live on camera as well as featuring a wealth of information provided by Gilbert Foxcroft. He also produced a specialist casting DVD hosted by Loutjie Louwies and a series of freshwater angling DVD's hosted by Schalk van Breda, Andries Maree, GP Nel and others. The first SA World Carp Angling Championships that took place at Bloemhof Dam in 2008 was also captured by him on film.
André has given a lot of his personal time and financial effort with regard to the development of Specimen Carp Angling and Freshwater Angling in South Africa.
