Option 1 - SAFBAF Affiliated
Members of the South African Carp Society (SACS) will be
allowed, through OutdoorPAGES affiliated fishing clubs,
to compete at a club, provincial, national and
international level. All competitions will be fished
according to existing SAFBAF rules - Carp facet. Joining
the club is optional but, it will give you the peace of
mind that you will be able to register your catch –
should it be a record.
SACS members who are also members of the OutdoorPAGES
regional fishing clubs, who are competing at provincial
and national levels, will automatically qualify for SACS
sponsorship. These sponsorships include bait, clothing
and financial assistance. Terms and conditions apply.
Option 2 - Going For Gold Series
The SA Carp Society Going For Gold Carp Fishing Series consists of
six competitions per year, with a final to crown the
Champion of Champions. The winner of the final will win
a prize worth R 10 000-00 (guaranteed). The first series
offers a brand new True Cast inflatable boat COMPLETE
with all the necessary accessories. These include a
trolling motor, GPS, fish finder, batteries, etc.
Each individual competition will allow three anglers to
go through to the final. The three biggest carp caught
in a 26-hour period will qualify.
The first competition will be hosted in February 2009.
Details will be published on the sacarpsociety.co.za web
site and OutdoorPAGES.
SOCIAL ANGLING EVENTS
We are aware that not all anglers like to fish
competitively. The SA Carp Society will therefore be hosting social
fishing events on a quarterly basis. These events will
allow anglers to fish new venues, make new friends and
learn more about the sport.
The SA Carp Society Going For Gold fishing series and SACS social
events will allow anglers to showcase their skills and
overall fishing ethics, which is required if you wish to
upgrade your membership.
